Registered Nurse (RN) - Heart Failure Unit

Full-Time - Day/Midnight 12-hour shifts (Hours:7a-7p / 7p-7a)

Weekends and holidays as required.

The Unit  

The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital is a 36 bed unit.  There are 12 beds for post op open heart patients.  These patients are stepdown level of care, some with chest tubes/drains, large bore central line catheters, and external cardiac pacing wires.  These patients are closely monitored and rounded on daily by the cardiac surgeon and the multidisciplinary team.

Education & Requirements:

  • BSN preferred
  • Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire can be considered with relevant experience
  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
  • Previous stepdown experience preferred
  • Previous critical care experience preferred
  • BLS required; ACLS preferred
  • Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
