The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program application is open now through March 12, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. ET. If you are a nurse actively working in critical shortage facilities or teaching as nurse faculty at an accredited school of nursing, this program is an opportunity to reduce your nursing school debt. Pay off 60% of your nursing education debt with two years of Nurse Corps service, and you can reduce it by an additional 25% with a third year of service.
Are You Eligible?
You must:
Be a current U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident.
Have completed your nursing education at an accredited school of nursing located in a U.S. state or territory.
Have a current, full, permanent, unencumbered, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the state you intend to practice.
Be employed full-time at a critical shortage facility (CSF) or eligible school of nursing as nurse faculty. Nurses serving at a CSF must work at least 32 hours per week, with a minimum of 25%, or 8 hours, spent providing direct patient care.
Have educational loan debt from pursuing a diploma or degree in nursing.
